Monsoon season has arrived! We’ve had multiple storms roll through the area and while I was busy on Sunday and didn’t have a chance to get out I made up for it by driving down to Maricopa yesterday to catch this Dust Storm/Haboob as it rolled over the fields. The biggest danger from these storms becomes visibility on the highway. You can see how quickly visibility drops. A secondary issues can come in the form of Valley Fever which is caused by a fungus that grows in the dry soil of the southwest and can be picked up and transported with the moving sand.
