The Hazen fire started on May 2nd in the rugged and dense terrain of the Gila River Bottom. This same terrain has made the task of fighting the fire difficult. Driving to work not he 2nd I could see the large loom up from my apartment almost 40 miles away. Aggressive work on the ground and from the air has been successful and current containment is listed as 78%.
